Welcome to this week's You Are Destined For Greatness, coming to you this afternoon with my good gelding Wimpy here, talking about horses and humans.
And you know, one thing about working with horses is you must be able to break down complicated subjects, complicated maneuvers, into easily understandable little bits and pieces, one at a time, in order to have clear communication. The same thing goes with people.
I've got to be better and better at making things simple. Not easy, but simple. And I'm going to give you a key today that's going to turn your world upside down if you use it.
It's so simple. You might just think, you might just discard it. You might say, “Shane, I already know that. That's too easy. That's not going to work. Life's not that simple.” I'm telling you, it's that simple. It's not easy to develop this habit, but it is that simple.
If you use this four, little four-word, four words I'm going to give you to change, to shift your mindset, okay, from outward to inward, it'll turn your world upside down.
Because here's the deal. Our mindset, when things aren't going our way, when we're angry, when we're frustrated, when we're, for any reason, okay, overwhelmed, when we're any, when, but this one or that, when things are not going our way, when you feel a disturbance, when you feel conflict, our natural tendency, it doesn't mean anything is wrong with you. It means your natural and normal brain is going to guide you to the outside source, not to within yourself.
That doesn't mean anything is wrong with you. That means you're normal. So our job is to override that because we don't have control over all that. We have control here. Okay? And once that you bring the focus here, you have control over yourself, so you can start making progress on the thing that isn't going your way. Makes sense?
The key is, is bringing the focus here, being willing todo it, and having the mind shift, the mind shift.
And so here's the key. Here's the, okay, you ready? Here we go. Four words, “What can I do?”
That's it, “What can I do?” If you, when you're feeling angry, when you're feeling upset, when things aren't going your way, when you're mad at people, when you're frustrated, overwhelmed, tired, all of it, if you can just form the habit of using those four words. And using those four words to shift your mindset from all the things that are wrong out there and what everybody else, and whatever the circumstance is that happened to you, and what everybody else is doing or did, to “What can I do?” And then take action on that, it will turn your life upside down. I guarantee it. Give it a try.
Stay with me. Remember, You Are Destined For Greatness.
