Welcome to this week's You Are Destined For Greatness coming to you with my good mare, Purdy, that you've seen before. We've graduated to our little riding arena. I think this may be the first time we've recorded out here.
You know, people talk to me and they say they want to know how to get a horse to do a certain thing. How do I get good with horses? How do I get a horse to do this, and that, and the other?
People, when we want results with our kids and the people that we're in relationships with too and we kind of think that we can control them. And here's the thing, okay, here's the deal.
The best results, and I know this because I've rode horses with a bad attitude and no emphasis on me, and then I've really worked on me. I've worked on me and what's inside of me, and I've worked on managing my mind and my thoughts, and it's changed how I come out to horses and to people.
You know, a lot of times I hear, and especially men, they say, "Well, personal development is too much of a focus on you. Working on a relationship with yourself is just selfish. What about other people?"
And here's the thing, committing to personal development is one of the most selfless and noblest acts that we can do. I guarantee it. I guarantee it from my own experience and from the experience of the people in Stable Living Coaching.
Because here's the deal, without that commitment to yourself, to working on your mental health, okay, which is driving your physical health and everything else, without that commitment you won't have the capacity to be able to be as good as you can be. Not just for yourself, okay, but for yourself, for all the people that you love, for your horses, for your kids, and the people that mean the most to you.
I just, highly recommend that you take a close look at yourself and say to yourself:
Am I being intentional?
Am I being purposeful?
Do I have a commitment to my own mental health?
And if so, what am I doing about it? And is there something I can do to improve it? Should I improve it? Have I prioritized it or not?
I was gonna say, a lot of times with men, we think, we think, a lot of times with men we think that it's a weakness. We wanna think that if we need something, if we need anything to change, or if we need any help, or we need to, if something's not quite right that we need to improve, that shows the sign of weakness.
And I'm here to tell you, for men and women, it's nothing but a sign of strength when you're open enough to be teachable, and learn, and progress.
Hey, just consider it. Stay with me. Thanks for being with me. I appreciate you taking your time for this week's episode.
Remember the most important: You Are Destined For Greatness.
